WARNING TONS OF PICTURES!! I didn't think it had been that long since I last blogged but I sure have taken a lot of pictures since then! We have been trying to get out and enjoy this nice fall weather before it gets too cold and we are stuck inside all the time. Since Chris studies all day every day I told him that we were going to do something as a family every Saturday for at least a few hours because we both need the BREAK! We had decided to go with our friends for a picnic out to the Isaac Morley farm. I didn't know anything about it but learned that it was where they had the first School of the Prophets. It is also one of the places that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith.

Since it was such a beautiful day we decided to go to Squaw Rock. Here is the rock...Some lady carved some pictures in it a LOOONG time ago.

Sophie cheesing it by the waterfallFamily photo op. Check out this awesome bridge. It must be hundreds of years old!The trees here are all so tall and skinny as you can see. The ground is covered with leaves. Cleveland does have some pretty places after all! :)

My most wonderful mother came out to visit us for a few days. I loved having her here. It rained most of the time so we weren't able to do much which is just fine because we loved just spending time together. My parents just put in their mission papers so she wanted to get out here and see our house before they left. We went to Kirtland and saw the N.K. Whitney store and what is left of where the saints used to live. After going to visit these sights I have a new appreciation for the early history of the Church. It helps bring the scriptures to life for me!
We celebrated my mom's bday while she was here and Sophie got to blow out the candles.Our ward had a trunk or treat and mini carnival for the kids. So we dressed up the kids and headed over there. Chris really enjoyed helping Sophie fish for treats and trowing darts at the balloons.A witch with her "punkin"My dear husband didn't want Sophie's costume to just look like it was bought, he wanted it to be original so here it is! The bones glow in the dark so that was perfect for trick or treating.I knew Lila wouldn't keep on the hat that came with this costume so we used a headband and flower for her stem!Twinner shirts!

Our pumpkin! We wanted to do it with a little pumpkin in its mouth but never got around to it. Chris thought he needed a cigarette too...Sophie thought it was a carrot...we didn't correct her!

I warned you this was going to be a long one! It finally stopped raining long enough to let our leaves dry out a little bit so we could rake them up. And since you can't have a leaf pile without playing in it, we got Chris to stop studying so he could join in the fun. Soph didn't want to jump off her house so she slid down the roof instead. Chagrin Falls is a cute little tourist town which reminded me of Park City or Jackson Hole....The falls...Since some of our fondest memories when we were young was feeding the ducks we make sure to do this quite often. We bought some popcorn at a little popcorn shop and headed over to these geese. It was pretty cute, Sophie wouldn't eat any popcorn because it was for the 'gooses'Since Chris wasn't able to get Soph to jump off her house into the leaves he was determined to help her great braver.
